In Partnership

The New Mexico SBDC is partially funded under Cooperative Agreement No. 4-603001-Z-0032-16 by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The support given by the U.S. Small Business Administration through such funding does not constitute an expressed or implied endorsement of any of the co-sponsors' or participants' opinions, findings, conclusions, recommendations, products or services. All of the SBA's programs and services are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.

Cargill Kitchen Solutions, formerly Sunny Fresh Foods, is honored to be the only food company to twice receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for business performance excellence. We've grown since we first received the award in 1999, but today our 800 employee stakeholders still embrace the principles behind the Baldrige-based Cargill Business Excellence Process. It drove our business then, and it continues to drive us to higher levels of excellence today.

We would like to thank the more than 400 examiners who devote thousands of hours of time evaluating U.S. organizations. While hundreds of organizations have submitted applications since Congress founded the award in 1987, fewer than 80 applicants have been judged to be outstanding in the seven criteria areas. Cargill Kitchen Solutions is thrilled to be among just a handful enjoying such recognition a second time.

Award Criteria
Recipients of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award are judged on performance excellence in seven key areas:

1. Leadership
2. Strategic Planning
3. Customer and Market Focus
4. Measurement Analysis and Knowledge Management
5. Workforce Focus
6. Process Management
7. Business Results

Sharing our commitment to Baldrige-Based Quality Systems

The people of Cargill Kitchen Solutions approach their jobs with passion and commitment. Through them, continuous improvement and total customer satisfaction have become the fabric of the company as it strives to achieve world-class business performance. As a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient, we look forward to sharing performance insights to raise awareness about the Baldrige program and help others in their pursuit of excellence.
