Quality New Mexico, through partnerships, workshops, events, and assessments provides valuable education and feedback on quality concepts to New Mexico organizations.

Quality New Mexico administers the New Mexico Quality Awards that is modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards Program. The NMQA program assesses and recognizes organizations at three levels: Zia Award for Performance Excellence, Roadrunner Recognition for Progress, and Pinon Recognition for Commitment. Join us and become "Committed to a State of Excellence"

VISION: To be the catalyst for performance excellence in all sectors of New Mexico’s economy and improve the quality of life for everyone.

MISSION: Enable improved performance by New Mexico businesses and organizations by providing tools, knowledge, learning experiences, and best practices that leverage the Baldrige framework for performance excellence.

The only official program in New Mexico to determine the level of your organization’s performance and provide public recognition to recipients on level of accomplishment. Be among other New Mexico organizations proven to be Role Models for organizational performance excellence.

Join the growing list of New Mexico organizations who have achieved economic competitiveness, improved patient outcomes, higher student achievement, government and non-profits with responsive and effective services; with their commitment to a state of excellence.

The New Mexico Quality Awards, modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, recognizes businesses and other organizations that are in various stages of their “Performance Excellence Journey.” The three levels of the New Mexico Quality Awards are:

  • Piñon Recognition
    (commitment to Performance Excellence)
  • Roadrunner Recognition
    (progress toward Performance Excellence)
  • Zia Award for Performance Excellence
    (best-in-class results)

We also have a “pre-NMQA”, the Adobe Assessment, which provides valuable feedback on your organization’s “profile” (including your key organizational characteristics and your key organizational challenges). For additional information on the Adobe Assessment, please contact Jeff Weinrach at jeff@quality-newmexico.org.

In addition to recognition, the value of participating in this process is through the Feedback Report that identifies the key strengths and opportunities for improvement based on the seven Categories of the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence:

  • Leadership
  • Strategic Planning
  • Customer Focus (students for education and patients for health care)
  • Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management
  • Workforce Focus
  • Process Management
  • Results
