The Board of Examiners is a volunteer board consisting of examiners who evaluate applications from businesses and organizations and recommend award and recognition recipients.

Examiner Appointments

The Board of Examiners are experts capable of evaluating businesses and organizations eligible for the New Mexico Quality Awards. The program recruits the best in business, education, health care, government, and non-profit sectors.

Examiners are appointed for a one-year term, but are encouraged to reapply for additional service.

Judges

Judges review Examiner scores, select applicants for site visits, and make award and recognition decisions.

Examiner Professional Path

  • The New Mexico Quality Award Examiner program is proven to be an invaluable professional and personal development experience.
  • The program is designed to educate and train individuals along an “Examiner performance excellence path.”
  • Examiners receive valuable training and experience in understanding and applying the Baldrige Criteria to a variety of businesses and organizations.
  • Examiners develop analytical and consensus-building skills and a systems perspective that can be applied to their home organization.
  • Board’s Role

Examiner teams are appointed by the Awards Process Team. Each team includes a Team Leader and a Team Editor. Examiners review, comment on, participate in a consensus review, and score written applications. All team members participate in writing the Feedback Report to the applicant. Some Examiner teams will be required to participate in a site visit and prepare a Site Visit Report.
