The most valuable benefits of submitting an application are going through the
assessment process and receiving a Feedback Report. The New Mexico Quality
Awards (NMQA) recognition or award recognizes organizations publicly
for their commitment or progress or performance excellence.
Awards Program
The NMQA program adopted the Baldrige National Quality Program Criteria for
Performance Excellence as its standard. While
consistent with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the NMQA
established three levels to promote greater participation.
Applications are reviewed and evaluated by members of the Board of Examiners. The
Feedback Report is a written assessment
of the application by professionally trained examiners and contains both strengths and
opportunities for improvement – important input that can help your organization
improve.
Application
Applicants use the Baldrige Criteria for Performance
Excellence as the basis for their application. The Criteria offer a framework
that organizations may use to tailor their systems and processes toward
ever-improving customer value.
Criteria: Organizational Profile, Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer
and Market Focus, Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management, Human
Resource Focus, Process Management, Business Results.
The New Mexico Quality Awards program has two steps:
Intent to Apply Form – Eligibility Determination
Decide if your organization wants to apply in Cycle I or Cycle II.
Complete the Intent to Apply Form and submit with fee to Quality New Mexico no later than
5:00pm June 30, 2007 for Cycle I or Cycle II.
All parts of the Intent to Apply Form must be complete and received with fee. Forms and fees received after the deadline will only be considered for eligibility and acceptance subject to the availability of sufficient examiners and may be rejected and returned without action.
Applicants will normally be notified of their eligibility and acceptance status within two weeks of receipt of the Intent to Apply Form and fee.
Application
Applications along with approved Intent to Apply and the appropriate fee must be at Quality New Mexico no later than
5:00pm August 1, 2007 for Cycle l or no later than
5:00pm November 1, 2007 for Cycle ll.
Applicants must submit ten (10) copies of their application; or the application may be submitted on a CD, with one hard copy and the
authorization completed on Intent form.
Because of the critical timing aspects of subsequent steps in the awards process, applications cannot be accepted after the deadline.
